Luxembourg · 20 years of the Roude Léiw flag

The “Roude Léiw” draws on a heraldic symbol associated with the history of Luxembourg. The red lion appears in the coat of arms of the Grand Duchy and dates back to the medieval counts of Luxembourg. The shield shows a red rampant lion against a pattern of alternating blue and silver stripes. These elements refer to the country’s dynastic and territorial history.
