Grown from the forum

This database has been built up over many years in the German Coin Forum. There, collectors have been compiling information on 2-euro commemorative coins for decades: mintages, issue dates, variants, mints and many other details. Information is supplemented, compared with one another, checked and corrected when new findings emerge. In this way, a body of knowledge has grown that goes far beyond individual catalogues and publications.

A special thanks to Numisfreund

Numisfreund – Rudolf has made a significant contribution to this. He researches and compiles information, maintains it in tables, and keeps the data up to date. His continuous work and the contacts he has built up over many years with mints and collectors throughout Europe form an important foundation of this database. I would like to express my sincere thanks to him for this.

Three Generations Coin Dealership

The knowledge from the forum is complemented by the practical experience of a third-generation coin dealer. This combination helps not only to collect information, but also to classify it meaningfully from a collector’s perspective. Coins, editions and variants are therefore clearly distinguished from one another and recorded as they actually occur in everyday numismatic practice.

Own images instead of third-party material

The images are also created in-house. The coins are photographed personally and shown in high resolution – from obverse and reverse sides to packaging and certificates. Special thanks go to my son Christian Honscha, who takes a large part of the photographs

What you can expect from the database

The goal is to provide the most reliable and traceable database possible: information is checked and continuously updated, high-resolution images make it easier to identify variants, and the clear structure ensures that coin, edition, and variant can be clearly assigned.

Errors can never be completely ruled out despite all due care. That is why you will find the Report Error button on every coin page. Every report is read and checked.

A project by Tobias Honscha, Honscha Münzenhandel, together with Christian Honscha – and with thanks to all collectors who contribute their knowledge in the forum.
