About the “Croatian Cities” series
Varaždin was briefly the capital of Croatia in the 18th century and is known for its Baroque old town. The Arena of Pula is one of the best-preserved Roman amphitheatres. Vukovar stands as a symbol of the fierce fighting during the Croatian War of Independence in 1991; the coin was issued in a mintage of 500,000, while the first two had mintages of 200,000 each.
