Ireland's U2 coin: 150,000 Coincards and 5,000 Proofs

According to a collector, Ireland is reportedly due to issue the €2 commemorative coin marking 50 years of U2 on 25 September 2026. The plans call for 150,000 BU Coincards in just one version, priced at €14.95. A further 5,000 Proof coins in presentation cases are reportedly set to be released for €39.95. No coins for circulation are planned, according to the report. The design is not expected to be revealed until the day of issue.
