According to a collector, a counterfeit of Cyprus’s 2024 €2 commemorative coin is being offered for sale. The copy bears the small inscription “Copy”, which, according to the information provided, is often scraped or sanded off by fraudsters. The pieces are said to originate from a known Chinese counterfeiting ring that also produces counterfeits from Estonia and Monaco. They could be used both in general circulation and to defraud collectors.
