2027 Beethoven coin reportedly set for release on 2 December

According to several ECDS sources and a dealer, Austria is reportedly due to issue a 2-euro commemorative coin on 2 December 2026 marking the 200th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven’s death. The issue would be assigned to the 2027 vintage and is expected to appear in KMS 2027. A Proof version is also listed for the same date. It is intended to launch an annual series of Austrian composers; the reports do not include official confirmation.

Bulgaria plans two 2-euro commemorative coins for May 2027

The Bulgarian National Bank has officially confirmed the issue marking the 20th anniversary of Bulgaria’s accession to the EU. May 2027 is given as the release date. The 2-euro commemorative coin dedicated to the Bulgarian Rose is also scheduled for May 2027. The reports do not yet provide details of mintages, versions or prices.

Bulgarian programme lists issues for 2028 and 2029

Bulgaria’s provisional coin programme includes a 2-euro commemorative coin for 2028 marking the 150th anniversary of Bulgaria’s liberation. The programme was confirmed by the Governing Board of the Bulgarian National Bank on 7 July 2026. For 2029, the National Bank has also confirmed an issue marking the 150th anniversary of the Constitution of Tarnovo. The programme remains provisional with regard to the dates and details mentioned.

Austria announces another composers’ issue for 2028

According to Austria’s provisional issuance programme, a 2-euro commemorative coin for 2028 is already listed.
