The occasion for issuing the Austrian €2 commemorative coin for 2028 cannot be determined on the basis of the available information. Both the title of the coin and the text of the relevant Official Journal of the European Union, in which the occasion, design and, where applicable, the person or building depicted are described, are missing.

It is therefore not possible to reliably explain which historical, cultural or political context the issue relates to. It also remains unclear whether the coin commemorates an anniversary, a personality, a building or an event, and why this particular occasion was selected.

For factual background information, the text of the Official Journal of the European Union or at least a description of the coin’s design is required. Without this information, statements concerning names, years and connections would be speculative.
