San Marino · 90th anniversary of the death of Giacomo Puccini

The two corrections cannot be reliably attributed to a specific occasion of issue. They mention neither the issuing state nor a person, building, historical event or inscription depicted. The numbers of the corrections merely identify the respective publications in the Official Journal; on their own, they do not permit the coins to be identified.

In addition, the text refers to two different coin issues. The corrected months and years alone do not make it possible to determine which national sides are meant. During the same period, several states issued 2-euro commemorative coins. Attribution based on the month of issue would therefore not be reliable.

For a presentation of the historical, cultural or political context, at least the original notice to which each correction refers would be required. It would have to contain information on the issuing country, a description of the coin design and the occasion of issue. Without this information, any statement about a person, building or anniversary depicted would be speculation. Accordingly, it is also not possible to explain why a particular occasion was selected for a coin issue.
